This summer Jim Jarrett took MEISNER to Los Angeles for six sold-out benefit shows. Over $5,000 was raised and donated to the Chris Liebe family and their fight with cancer. In October, Jarrett returned for two more sold-out shows benefiting the Charlotte Maxwell Clinic. Over $2000 was raised for this amazing organization which provides housing and treatment for low-income and homeless women being treated for cancer.
Just as rewarding for Jarrett were the reactions from audience members. Below are few examples of the type of impact MEISNER has on audience-members in Los Angeles.

“Hello Jim,
I just wanted to say that your play as MEISNER and your Q and A afterwards truly touched me on a personal level. YOUR PLAY reminded me of why I do this, not for the check, not for the recognition, but because it is the only time I’m truly happy.
Thank you for reminding me why I do this, reminding me why I can do nothing else, and reminding me that this isn’t a Hollywood business no matter how much they want to make it into one, it’s a noble business of ARTISTS not ACTORS/WHORES. Seeing your passion moves me to tears, and for us guys just starting out in the business you are our Dustin Hoffman, you are our Al Pacino, you are the proto type that made me remember that no matter how much shit I take from friends and from everyone I know who’s going to college for backup plans, you remind me that it’s OKAY to do what makes you happy. So for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Your fan,
Harrison”

“The closest you can now get to attending one of Sanford Meisner’s classes is by attending Jim Jarrett’s MEISNER.

“Jim,
Wow. Where do I begin? First off, I’ve never attended your show until last Friday night. I found myself in laughter, in tears, in sadness and in the end…filled with love and pride. It was as if I was in Sandy’s class and felt his love and respect for the craft. I feel the reason you captured it so well is because Sandy passed not only the love for the craft but the reason he loved it. Sandy passed the reason why onto you. Which in my opinion is the ultimate gift. Thank you for sharing the reason why. I can only imagine what it is like for you to do the show…to play someone who you love so much. Ultimately, I imagine it is a sense of nobility, that you are sharing the reasons why Mr. Meisner loved acting and the principles for which he stood. I apologize for rambling on and on. I’m still at a loss for words for what I witnessed last Friday night. The only thing I can say is thank you.
Jesse”

“You are amazing, and the Q&A was the best info i have gotten from any actor out here in LA. I really appreciate how you stay so humble. I hope some day I will be able to act with you, you are a breath of fresh air and you are so successful in my book ’cause you love the world of acting so much. Can’t wait to see your next plays!
Jahanna”

“Hey Mr. Jarrett,
I don’t even know how to thank you for the past 2 weekends…words just don’t do it justice. I feel like I really experienced what it was like to have a class with Mr. Meisner and I’ll never forget it for the rest of my life. I went to every single show and took notes like a maniac, but I just couldn’t stop. I enjoyed every second of it, I truly did, and I feel like such a better person and actor because of it. Mr. Meisner must feel so proud to have you carry on his legacy the way you are. Again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I don’t think you have any idea how amazing this was for me but maybe someday I’ll be able to pay you back.
All Good Things,
Bruce”
